Hello!

My very first mammogram was six weeks after my 40th birthday. Two weeks later, on December 7th 2006, I was officially diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

July 10-11th 2009 I will be biking the Seattle (WA) to Portland (OR) Bicycle Classic. The STP is a “must do” Northwest ride and is open to 9,500 riders this year. I am thrilled to join the ranks of thousands of cyclists who have pedaled south in this famous double century (that’s bike lingo for 200 miles).

I have decided to ride this event as a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. My goal this year is to raise $5,000. Two years ago I raised about $4,000.00 before Corporate Matching. We sent BCRF almost $9,000.00!

The money I raise will help the BCRF achieve their mission of finding a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. Your tax deductible donation provides critical funding for innovative clinical and genetic research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. Every dollar counts! This year we do not have a corporate matching program. I urge you to be your own fundraising advocate and talk to your family, friends, and co-workers. Also talk to your HR dept. about matching your (and fellow employee) donations!
